Center City Neighborhood
Millville, NJ

In the spring of 2008, Affordable Homes of Millville, Ecumenical, Inc. (AHOME) received a grant from The Wachovia Regional Foundation to prepare a Strategic Plan.
Triad was responsible for gathering input from a broad base of the constituency and critical stakeholders to develop and share the outcome of the strategic planning process and the final Strategic Plan product.

The process of developing the Strategic Plan involved guidance from a 14-member Steering Committee and an Advisory Council comprised of neighborhood residents. Resident and stakeholder input was received from surveys, focus group and neighborhood meetings. A Neighborhood Website was set up to provide information on the planning process to date and offered an alternative channel for resident and stakeholder feedback.
A comprehensive document outlining a range of goals, strategies and projects for the neighborhood outlined key issues and challenges facing the community as well as the current and potential strengths of the neighborhood.

The document included selected stories from real people about the history of the neighborhood and some of the hopes and dreams they have for its future. The Plan recommends policy, broad goals and the direction for the neighborhood to move forward through a detailed inventory of projects, programs and other initiatives to revitalize the neighborhood.
