| The Pennsauken Mart was a fifty year-old farmers market and retail center with approximately 150 stores located at the intersection of Routes 73 and 130 and Haddonfield Road in Pennsauken Township. Due to the configuration of the site and increased pressure from competing commercial markets, the Pennsauken Mart had been underutilized and under-maintained for some time, leading to its deterioration. The Camden County Improvement Authority (CCIA) was authorized to develop and implement a plan for the redevelopment of the area. |
| The Camden County Improvement Authority retained the services of Triad to prepare a Workable Relocation Assistance Plan and to relocate approximately 140 businesses in the Pennsauken Mart. The Improvement Authority received a Casino Reinvestment Development Authority grant of $24 million for the acquisition, relocation and demolition of the Mart to prepare for the subsequent development of the site. |
| All the businesses were relocated and the old property was demolished. The extensive list of businesses that were relocated included a liquor store, a check cashing business, a barber shop, a ballroom, a gas station, a movie theater, approximately 17 food establishments and dozens of smaller, eclectic shops. Triad was responsible for all outreach to the businesses, intake, financial processing, case management, and file management. |
