| The Helen Diller Vacation Home for Blind Children, which has been in operation since 1970, provides a pleasant and educational vacation opportunity for children with visual impairment and limited financial resources. Through this program, children have the chance to experience a seaside vacation, have fun and make lasting friendships. To achieve this, the Board of Directors needed to provide a clean and safe living environment during their stay. The Board wanted to obtain some capital items that desperately needed to be replaced including bedroom furniture, ceiling tiles, carpeting and fencing. |
| Triad was asked to obtain the funding essential to replace the capital items. To do so, Triad researched and identified foundations that could fund this project and prepared and submitted an application that included items that were the Board of Directors’ high priorities for replacement. |
| The Board received a $25,000 foundation grant for capital item replacement. They leveraged the money with a significant amount of volunteer labor through the creation of the 1st Annual Community Home Makeover Day. |
