Jewish Renaissance Foundation
Perth Amboy, NJ

In 2007, The Jewish Renaissance Foundation received a grant from The Wachovia Regional Foundation to prepare a Strategic Plan. Residents of the Greater Budapest Neighborhood desired a clean and safe community where people have ready access to good jobs, quality education, recreation, and a full range of social, medical, and family services. They also desired a strong sense of identity and a greater connection to the civic and cultural affairs of the City.
Triad performed an assessment and determination of needs of the community along with a neighborhood visioning and policy framework, which included organizing and conducting a Neighborhood Visioning Workshop to explore the vision that residents and stakeholders had for the future of the neighborhood.

Triad utilized the strategic plan to assist Perth Amboy in the preparation of a grant application for Neighborhood Stabilization Program funding. Triad also assisted with the preparation of an implementation grant through Wachovia. As a result of these efforts, Perth Amboy received $1.7 million in NSP funds and $750,000 through Wachovia.
